Herrgottsbscheißerle
This evening I enjoyed a meal of Maultaschen. It’s another specialty of Baden-Württemberg and it is delicious. It basically resembles enormous ravioli, pasta stuffed with minced pork and spinach. You cut these into slices and fry them with onions and egg. Tasty stuff.
I’m reliably informed that this dish was invented by the locals – die Schwaben – as a method of continuing to eat meat during Lent, because God is unable to see through pasta. Those the clever Swabians.
